I have credit accounts sent to collections over 7 yrs ago. Can the be disputed?

If they are still reporting and are not federal loans then yes dispute them if they became delinquent more than seven years ago. The three credit bureaus are Tranunion, Equifax and Experian and they all have websites. Even if you are slightly shorter than the seven year mark, you may be granted an "early exclusion" upon request. The seven year time frame starts at the time of the negative action or the DOFD for charge offs. DOFD means "date of first delinquency" which would usually occur one month after the date of your last payment.
