I have a low credit score, should I apply for a credit card to try to increase it?

I disagree, open a secured card, pay off ever month dont exceed 10% utilization. work on pay for delete agreements so only good credit remains and you have a good history when you apply for real credit.

You should make sure you are current on any late payments first. Then you should make a budget to insure that you spend what you can afford.

Only then should you apply for credit. When you do make sure you apply for a card that is targeted for your credit level. Good luck.
