I have 20 inactive accounts with zero balances, should I close some of them?

are they over a year old? Do they have fees? are they store cards?  If any of them can be answered yes to all 3 questions yes close them.  If they have annual fees and you have no use for the cards then yes.  Store cards.... if you dont use them then yes close them.  If there is no annual fee I would keep them open.  They are helping you with age of accounts and Utilization..

The big thing that you would want to think about is how would closing cards affect your utilization.  If it want have a affect then you should be good.  I would not close more then two a month.  Otherwise as long as they have been in good standing they will stay on your report for ten years.
