AmEx are notoriously known for their slow reporting of new accounts. Three months or after second statement usually to be expected before it shows up on your report.

Amex reports to all three bureaus. It might take three months for the reporting to begin.

Perhaps AMEX reports to Experian and that information is not available to Credit Karma.  Not a big problem since the purpose of Credit Karma is to teach people how credit works and how to improve theirs, and they do so very well.
