I am still showing a collection on my credit report from 2006, why?
Here is how it shows up for transunion on my credit report, experian and equifax are similar. why is this still showing up? is it because it is from DFAS? (Defense Finance and Accounting Services, aka DOD) it is an old army debt that showed up when i got out, not even sure why it is there in the first place.

Probably because it IS from DFAS and you should have found out what it was all about when you first saw it. It would be wise to get this straightened out right away.
