I am Judgement-proof, should I refuse to cooperate with all collections agencies?
I have a VA pension, based on disability. I am having trouble paying off accounts in collections, total balance is below $3,500. I have 3 accounts, not in collections, in good standing, and very short payment history. I have been refused a personal, non-secured, loan to pay off these debts. Should I refuse to pay, in writing, the accounts in collections based on being judgement-proof? It appears that a secured credit card, used responsibly, would offset the effects on my credit score.
