On your credit report, it shows who the creditor is that reported the $88 in collection.   it should show contact information , even if it is only a telephone number.   If not, you can google the name of the firm to locate contact information.  If you have to google the information, you should inquire if they have any reference to you, don't immediately offer to pay.   Anyone would be willing to accept a payment and not be the official holder of an account.   You can also contact the original creditor, they can advise you who they transferred the debt.
