How soon after paying off my back taxes does it come off my credit report?

For a line item to fall off completely you are probably looking at around 10 years.

For it to stop affecting your credit negatively (if it is), you are probably looking at 3-7 years.

However, if paid in full and corrected, this line item shouldn't have a significantly negative impact depending on how it gets reported.  That it shows kind of sucks, but if it shows as paid in full or paid, it is less of an issue.
