Chapter 7 - 10 years from date of discharge;  Chapter 13 - 7 years from date of discharge,  missed payments,  collections, public court records, tax liens - 7 years from date reported/filed.

Routinely after 1 year on Chatper 13, some creditors will begin to favor you.  Chapter 7 may take 2 years.
