how long to recover
I ran into some issues this year. I had a room mate who stopped paying me in back in November, at the same time, i got his with a $500 a month deduction from my income. That $500 loss in addition to the loss of income from my ex room mate who decided to stop paying me the rent resulted in, you guessed it; I got behind on all my bills. Now my credit is shot. How long will it take me to recoup from all of this? I have a handle on my bills now and I had a new room mate move in who should be more reliable. Also, is there a way to prevent this from happening in the future? I own my home and rent a room to help pay the bills. If my renter does not pay, it effects me. How can I make it so that there is some accountability there? My former room mate got off scott free. I dont' want this happening again. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
