How long does it take for the positive credit score to show once an account has been paid in full?

What kind of account was it? That's important information if you want a helpful answer.
If it was a collection account, it probably won't affect your score very much.

If it's an installment account (like a car loan), your score will actually drop a bit when it's paid off. Seems weird, but that's the way it is.

If you paid off a credit card, your score should go up. 

As for when it will show up, it will show up on the next Credit Karma update after the creditor has reported to the bureaus. When they would report, again, depends on what type of account it was. A collection agency might take a bit longer than a regular creditor.
