How long does a paid collection take to be removed or show closed

will show closed whenever the collection agency posts it as such.  It will remain on your report for 7 years from the date of last activity.

As said, the information has to be updated and that can take a little time. If a month goes by and it doesn't update to closed, then dispute the account due to inaccurate reporting. The 7 year time period for it to remain on your reports starts at the time the original account became delinquent, not the date of last activity.
