how long can closed accounts damage credit score?

how long can closed accounts damage cred

Actually I have 2 that were not delinquent, but the banks contacted me saying if I did not allow them to CLOSE the accounts, my interest rate would skyrocket.

1 of them has been closed for a few years now.

I paid them both off in the spring....?
