Increases are not always automatic

Raising credit limits is not automatic, though some companies do reviews either annually or every 6 months.

You can contact the lender and request a raise in your limit, But generally they aren't going to raise your limit if your history is short or if there are any derogs on your report. Accounts should be at least a year old before asking for an increase.  Don't ask for an increase more than once a year on each card.

Be aware that asking for a limit increase will often cause a hard inquiry, and if not granted thats an un-nessisary ding on your report.

Good luck
