How do you get rid of a old debt that seems to be being re-issued by a collection agency?
The debt has already been closed by the original creditor and is over 7 years old....

Majority types of debt in collections can only be on your reports for 7 1/2 years from the Date Of First Delinquency, and it dosent go by any other dates. CRAs routinely remove them after 7 years from DOFD, so if it's already past that length of time? File a dispute with each CRAs... If you wish? You could file a complaint with Consumer Financial Protection Bureau and contact the Attorneys who are specialized in FCRA/FDCPA violations.
