You do not, and you do not worry about it either.  For car and home loan shopping the scoring system takes the different inquires from a week, some models up to a month, and consider it only one inquiry.  This allows for smart people to ask several banks and lenders to get the best deal for themselves.

If they are having to shop that hard for you I am guessing your credit scores are not that great.  In the future, if you dont want them to shop for the best rate for you, then you should do it yourself.  Before walking on to a car lot, go to your bank and maybe a few other lenders, all in the same week, and get approved to see who gives you the best deal.
