They are removed after two years

Helpful to 4 out of 4 people

Hard inquiries remain on your credit report for 2 years, then they are dropped. If after 2 years, they are still there, then you need to contact the credit bureau (TransUnion, Equifax or Experian) directly and follow their instructions.

After the first year, those hard inquiries are not taken into account by most lenders.
