Since the Fair Credit Reporting Act (a federal regulation) requires reporting all credit accounts for 7 years from "date of last activity" which is usually payment, get copies of your credit reports.  Go to annualcreditreport.com and get copies of all three credit reports.  While looking for that credit card, look for all WRONG information (not my account, wrong address/phone) and file disputes on these items with the credit bureau reporting them.  They have to investigate and either verify or delete the disputed items.  It's smart to do this every year to make sure no errors mess up your credit score.
