You can't get "Rid" of a thin file,

You improve it.

A "thin file" means that you have had relitively little credit.  You improve that by opening and maintaining new credit accounts over time.  Read up on the articles here on CK about how to do that.

Good luck

When you have a thin file there is no information in your file to base a score on. You will need to start building your credit.  Most people start when their poarentws add them as a signer on a credit card. barring that, you may need to begin with a secured credit card.  Contact your bank or credit union  and they can help you get things set up.
