Get and check all 3 reports

Helpful to 1 out of 2 people

Go to annualcreditreport.com and get all 3 credit reports.  Go over them carefully and find the errors (things you KNOW are not yours) and dispute them.  You should receive a new credit report in 30 days and your score should raise as soon as this site receives the information (about 6 weeks).

Make it a practice to review your credit reports every year to make sure the information is correct.
