How can written off and charged off items be sold?
I have old credit cards that have been written off by the original lenders and the accounts have been closed. Now as I look at my report they have been sold off to "new" lenders. Is this legal for them to do?

Written off items.

If you have written proof that these items were written off AND not still owed, then they can not be sold.  I am not a lawyer, but I would believe if they just gave up on them they could be sold.
