How can I reduce the affect of paying off my mortgage?

It all comes down the different types of accounts you have open. 

Look at opening a HELOC ( Home Equity Line of Credit ) and just let it sit.    You might use it once a year for something small and pay it off the next month. 

Over the past 5 years I have built my credit backup,   have a HELOC,  Auto Loan, and 15 CC's.   The only thing I owe anything on is the Auto Loan and I could pay that off,  but want the history on the Credit Report.   Building up history now with all the accounts.
