How can I increase chances of being approved for a new cc
I have a credit score of 742(up from 708 about two months ago) and only 1 line of credit with a 500 limit. For the last 6 months I've had a high credit utilization ratio but I recently lowered it to about 30%. No late or missed payments no hard inquiries. The only bad marks I have is a short credit history and the fact that I only have 1 type of credit line. I tried applying for a chase sapphire card and got turned down. (Credit karma isn't showing that I have a hard inquiry for that ) . I want more credit for the sake of having a lower utilization ratio but I want a good card also. I also considred a store card to have a mix on the type of credit as well. Is that foolish? Anyone have any advice?
