Lower your utilization. Utilization accounts for roughly one third of your credit score. Pay attention to your closing date on credit card accounts, and make sure your balance on that day is between 1 and 10 percent of your credit limit. Some creditors will tell you what the closing date is on the statement, and with others you have to guess (or you could call them and find out). Generally it's 2-6 days after the due date. Look good on that one day and you can use as much of your limit (without going over) as you want the rest of the month. In fact, if you use the card heavily you are more likely to get a credit limit increase, which only does good things for your score.
