If the collection is not on your reports DO NOT request that it be placed on your reports. If the collection is on your reports, the balance should be updated and changing as you pay. Keep in mind that paying on negative accounts are not payments that are factored into on-time payments. What would happen if you stop paying them? Who knows, they might sue you, they might do nothing. Do some reading on the FDCPA (fair debt collection practices act) it may be helpful info for you.
