Eviction Judgements/public records
I have 2 judgements on my credit, 1 from 2013 and 1 from 2014. I did not even realize these were on here until just recently when we were trying to rent a new home and were denied. One of them is only $130 which I can easily pay but the other one (more recent) is over 5k. And it is showing as eviction. I dont understand where it shows "eviction" of the report. I am obviously younger and newer to the world of monitoring my credit. But I want to fix this and get my credit score back up. Would it be smarter to file bankruptcy or to try and settle and pay this off? Once it is paid will it still show eviction somewhere. I am in a sticky situation because we really need to move, and my fiances credit score is worse than mine but he has no public records, however they are saying that his score is just below the min requirements.
Any advice would be very much appreciated!
