Equifax never investigates disputes.
I submitted a dispute on collection account and received a "completed investigation" from them the very next day. They stated they checked the data they had on file they received from collector when account was reported. End of Investigation. They merely said that what I disputed is what they have on file. They didn't even contact collector. What kind of investigation is that? TransUnion removed the same account within 3 days of dispute. Equifax just doesn't even read dispute. I resubmitted but this time with a letter outlining my dispute and documentation about original account. Maybe this time they will actually investigate.
