Duplicate CA tax lien on credit report - what to do?
I have two CA tax liens on my report from the same account/issue. They are similar dollar amounts filed about 2 months apart. They have both been released by the State, but it's not accurate to have 2 showing and I think it's hurting my score. I wrote to the tax board asking them to remove one or give me a filed in error statement. They never responded. I suppose I can try to call the State recorder's office, but they will probably direct me back to the tax board. Can I dispute one of them as a duplicate with the bureaus and will that work??
