As long as you're not trying to

finance a lot of things right away you have time to fix this,

First write a letter to Each of the credit bureaus asking them to attach a personal statement to your account. In the personal statement breifly explain what happened and why the payments were late. This will be printed on the first page of any credit report that is requested. This may help any future lenders understand why the payments were late and hopefully not hold that against you in the lending process. Of corse this will only help with larger Auto and home loans that require human intervention. Credit cards are almost always done by computer and they do not read anything, They just use an algeritium to say yes or no.

Second, contact the creditors that were affected and ask for a little leinency on the good faith of your relationship with them before these payments were missed, hopefully you'll get a sympathetic ear that will go back and remove some of those late payment marks, Its rare, but it does happen.

Credit scores are based on the law of averages, The more on-time payments reported The better overall score you'll receive.

Hopefully, things have improved for you and you can now make all your payments on time going forward, That alone will help improve your scores.

These actions won't improve your scores right away, but they can help in the long run.
