Different scoring algorithms

Helpful to 2 out of 2 people

There are dozens of different scoring models, each producing a different result. Although CK uses data from the TransUnion credit bureau, the TransRisk score you see here is still different than the TransUnion score a bank would get. Scores from Experian and Equifax would be more different, yet. It's unfortunate that sites that give online scores aren't more upfront about this, but it's also perfectly normal. The scores CK gives are only a guideline to help us manage our own finances. Any time you plan on applying for a big loan, you should get a better idea of your "real" scores by going to myfico.com. Just be glad your real score is higher than at CK. Some people get a shock when their score turns out to be much lower.
