credit karma's equifax score not same as equifax real score??
I know credit karma was posting an approximate score. Hadn't signed on in a bit and this morning they say they are posting actual agency scores. For Equifax mine was 817. Couples hour later I go car shopping, did a loan application, and the credit score from Equifax was 775. This was on the same day Karma said 817. Anybody else have this happen??

Credit Karma Scores vs TU/Equifax

I applied for a credit card from the Credit Karma site. The scores on CK was TU 710 and Equifax 724.  Capitol One reported a TU score of 648.  Thus my interest rate was much higher. Before applying I check the site weeklly and waited for several months for a stable score on both.

account on a certain day, once a week.  Mine updates every tuesday.  You might have checked yours and your score was based on old info, if you shopped at multiple dealerships there may have multiple inquiries on your report. A payment you made 3 weeks ago has been updated everywhere but with the certain Credit Bureau they use on the day they pulled your report.  Plus a hundred other variables.  No two credit reports ever figure the same. Some are weighted towards Long Term debt and others are not.  Each lender has a different formula and it's almost imposible to caculate an exact score.  To much weight is put on trying to get your score as high as it can go rather than understanding that its all about percentages.  Where your particular scores actually lands on a scale of percentages determines which bracket of credit you qualify for.

Also understand that you are already in the best bracket for interest rates and benifits from your score. Anything over 750 and your in the upper 20% of the credit pack, What creditors consider Ideal canidates for credit. Only 1% of the population ever achieve 850 and the majority of them have a 50 year credit hisory.

You obviously have done a great job managing your credit, Take advantage of that and enjoy!

Equifax, like every credit bureau, has many different formulas. We provide the VantageScore 3.0. The score you received for an auto loan was likely a specialized model just for auto loans.
