Credit counseling or debt settlement
I have two credit cards that I have been unable to make regular payments on. What is the best way to handle it?

Best bet

Pay them off. 

You could try an offer and compromise. Meaning you come to an agreement with them to settle the debt. But if you've been making payments, even irregularly they may not agree to it. Plus you would have to have the full amount to pay them right away. 

Credit counseling will cost you more in the long run and will require a regular monthly payment. Given the payment requirement you might as well just make the payments to the credit card and get it paid off.
