Get a copy of your credit report and file a dispute on this.  Make sure you check all three credit reports since a few creditors do post to more than one credit bureau.

FIRST, stop trying to contact them if you are not one hundred percent sure of how to deal with debt collectors. Do some reading on PAY FOR DELETE AGREEMENTS and do some reading on how to deal with debt collectors if you havent done so yet. Do some reading on the FDCPA (fair debt collection practices act) and contact an attorney that handles FDCPA cases if you feel it necessary. As said you can dispute it and hope that it works.

Hi MJohnson513! You should definitely file a dispute. Track down the dates and times you've called them for your own purposes as well, in case you ever need that information. The consumer FTC website provides more information on filing a dispute: http://www.consumer.ftc.gov/articles/0151-disputing-errors-credit-reports
