COLLECTIONS FROM 2011
i have a collections open from 2011. It's not a very high amount (although i dont think that matters) but should i pay it off? or just let it go? which would be better for my credit score?

You might as well pay it off rather than wait 7 years for it to fall off.  Try to get the collector to agree IN WRITING to delete the account from your report once paid, that will be the best scenario for your credit score.  However, a paid collection does hurt less than an unpaid one, so if they won't do the "pay per delete" go ahead and pay it anyway.
