Collection Company reopening closed case after three years?
I used a company in 2008 to get out of credit card debt. There were 4 cards involved.. One of them was dismissed by the court in March of 2010, but now I am receiving legal letters saying it was a clerical error and the debt is reinstated. This legal company has been reporting my monthly credit card bill from years ago as if it is going unpaid. I got the credit card companies to drop my balances.. These are collection agencies. I have been threatened with jail, which I know is illegal, money has been removed from my banks accounts two or three times over the past few years. How can i respond to this legal issue without having to pay a debt that has been dropped already?
