Are they paid?  Student loans do not just go away, unlike other debts.  And all debts remain on your credit reports for 7 years after they are paid.  I suggest reading the articles on this site so you can get a clearer understanding of how credit works.

The payment history will still affect your score until the drop off your report in 7-10 years (they drop off sooner if your payment history was bad). They will also still be included in your average credit age in your real FICO score, but not on Credit Karma's score.
