Chapter 7 concerns
We are going to file a chapter 7 bankruptcy - hopefully before the end of this month , 8/2016. My wife is concerned that we will lose our car - purchased 2 years ago - and even our furniture - purchased 3 years ago. I don't believe that anything like that will happen but we have not been able to contact our attorney about this. Any experience with this?

Your attorney is the best source of info, because we don't know what state you live in, if the furniture is collateral for a loan, etc. If you only have one car, it is generally safe to say that as long as you are still making payments on it (and are able to continue making the payments on it), it will likely be exempted, especially if one or both of you need it to get back and forth to work.
