Paid or unpaid collections have same reportable length which is 7 1/2 years from Date Of First Delinquency. Paid collection isn't ground for removal, it's going against CRAs' policy to do so. That been said? Some will tell you to do a "pay for delete" deal in writing, of course, feel free to try but just don't hang too much of hope it would work.
