Can you get an 18 year old closed uncollected account removed
This is an account from November, 1998 that has never been paid because of hardship, yet credit report says last payment 8/2010. Never made a payment, only correspondence.

As long as the debit is not for a Student Loan, Tax debt or Child Support, all you need to do is write a letter to the credit bureau requesting it be removed.

If it was from a judgement, the courts allow for judgements to be renewed in which if this is the case, the 7 years runs from date of the renewed judgement.      Even if it was for one of the previously stated, they too can be removed although they are likely to just reinstate them.
