Can I remove a company listed as my employer from my credit report?
A company a appears on my credit report as my employer, however I'm not employed by them, I work as an independent contractor under a TIN.

This firm is listed as an employer because on a credit application or a collection had it reflected as an employer.   Employers pretty much remain on your report as a reference and has no effect on your credit report.  I do not know the length of time that they remain, I have one from 20 years ago on mine, although both reports only list the prior 2 firms.   This is only on my report, thus I don't know how many it reports altogether.
