Can I make repayment arranges with the IRS for interest on school loans forgiven by Dept. of Ed.?.?
The U.S. Dept. of Ed. forgave by school loans because of a mental disability, but I still have to pay the interest on these loans -- which amounts to over $3000, and which I don't have.

Very Likely!!

Contact the IRS and see about working out a payment arrangement.  They will do that because they have with back taxes and the arrangement is usually not hard.  A former neighbor was notified he owed taxes on inherited stocks (he didn't) and he hadn't paid taxes for a couple of years (needed to pay those) so a tax consultant who is a friend of mine worked that out for him.  IRS is not unreasonable unless someone tries to pull something over on them, so contact them [and work out this arrangement.
