A co-signer has to have a decent enough credit profile to be able to qualify taking over the payments on the loan they co-signed for.  With your score, it is seriously likely that you would be required to have a co-signer to guarantee your loan because you wouldn't qualify.

FYI- Co-signing for someone who can't qualify for a loan on their own is a bad idea.  The majority of co-signers get stuck having to pay it moff, and have nothing to show for it.
