Can debit collector call for a collection acct which is removed from credit report? Please help
Recently my collection acct which is 6yrs old is removed but debit collector started calling after removing that acct. Never got a call before removing the account. Help advice

In most states, the statute of limitations for collections is six years or less.  If this debt is already off your credit report, it is likely uncollectable.  Do not accept any calls from this collector (caller ID is such a big help) or just tell the jerk that the statute of limitations has expired and any future calls will lbe reported as a .violation of the Fair Debt Collections Practices Act   Then you file that complaint with the FTC, which you can do online.
