If it is a Chapter 7 it will remain on your reports for two more years. Chapter 7 stays on reports for ten years. Chapter 13 stays on reports for seven years. Even with a bankruptcy on your reports you can do things to improve your credit. Be sure to spend as much time as it takes reading about the ways to rebuild credit after bankruptcy. Any specific questions on how to do so, give some info about your situation (just no personal information) and someone here will try to help you.
