If you recently applied for a line of credit how long would be a good time to wait before applying for a different line of credit?

it depends

sometimes it helps to do it all at once.  the hard inquiry will be the same either way.  the only difference is how it affects the average credit history.  you can find the average by adding all the months of all the open accounts (if the new-ish account's at 0 months, add 0),, then divide by the number of accounts plus 1 (for potential new acccount with 0months).  and then you can do the same thing, but add 3months or whatever to each account, except the potential new account, which is still at 0.

but if you don't need it, it's best to wait as long as possible.
