Name Change only from GECRB to SYNCB

Helpful to 12 out of 18 people

GECRB is GE Capital Retail Bank has changed it's name to Synchrony Bank = SYNCB.   So with the Name Change all the information at the Credit Bureaus was updated on June 2 of this year.

Just a Name Change only.

Synchrony Bank did not purchase or taken over accounts from GECRB.

from the 6 accounts that I have with SYNCB now ( was GECRB )

Account #'s are the same,  Mailing Address is the same, Phone numbers are the same.

Again just the name changed.

My understanding from others with the same question is that GECRB is now SYNCB.  In other words, SYNCB has purchase or taken over all accounts from GECRB.  So because of this your report will show your account being removed or closed from old creditor and then now open or added with the new.
