An account of mine went to collection when insurance did not take care of the bill. It was paid off.
How to get it removed from report.

If the account info is accurate

Then it becomes part of your credit history.
It should be reported as Closed/Paid on your report.  If it doesn't then you can file a dispute with the CRA to correct that, But it will continue to show on your report for 7 years from the date it was paid off..

If there is any incorrect information on the account you can dispute it and hope they delete it rather than correct it. Beyond that, do some research on how to write a "goodwill letter" to the collection company asking them to remove it from your reports.
