Autorized User/Joint Accounts

If you had the card already and added someone as an "authorized user," both individuals will see it on their credit report, but only the owner of that account will be liable for payment of the debt, not the authorized user. With a "Joint Account," both parties are the 'owners' of the account and both parties are liable to repay any debts incurred. So, it's up to you to decide if your partner or child is responsible enough to use it without messing up YOUR credit. It can and happens a LOT.
