its hard to say

You don't give any informaton on which to base a reply.

It all depends on your  What you have saved for a down payment, The cost of the car you want. Your Income, Credit Score, debt to income ratio and your relationship with the lender.  Is it your bank or are you relying on the dealer to find you financing?

I would suggest that for a realistic plan to buy a car, that you walk into yur bank and ask to talk to a loan officer.  Tell them you want to prequalify for an auto loan.  They will walk you through what you need to do to get the loan,  Who knows you might even walk out with a Pre-Qualified loan that you can Actually take to a dealer and negotiate as if you had cash in hand.
