I agree with you. I think that credit card companies ramrodded this ruling to make more money off you. I think that I may have to ask my credit card company to lower my credit limit so I can look better on paper.

My credit rating was 820 according to mortgage lending company. Got a 30 year loan, paid it off in 12 years, have a credit limit on my credit card of 26K but pay off my balance every month. I have no other debt but because I don't want to pay finance charges. Because I don't carry a credit card debt  my credit card rating is a  "C" and my overall rating dropped to 740--what's up. Appears that if I go into debt, and stay in debt, my ratings will increase, what's wrong with this picture?
